It appears as if Cuonzo Martin's meeting with Ahmaad Rorie did not go off as well as he would have liked. Rorie has asked for and been granted a release from his letter of intent, reports Evan Daniels of Scout.
Four-star PG Ahmaad Rorie tells Scout that he asked for and was granted a release from his Letter of Intent to California.

If I had to guess why Rorie is not coming to Cal, it probably had to do with Martin stating that he would not be bringing Travis DeCuire back. Rorie was recruited primarily by DeCuire, and I imagine he wanted him on staff. But DeCuire probably wasn't going to accept a demotion now that Tracy Webster will be taking his spot as the associate coach on the bench (or Martin might have wanted to recharge to just shuffle things up), so Rorie decided to look for other options. I'm guessing he will stay in the Pac-12, with Washington now the primary target.
I'd expect #UW to be involved with Ahmaad Rorie now that he has received a release from his LOI. #Huskies have one scholarship left.

With this news, I would imagine that Martin will now be going after one of the guards that he got to commit to Tennessee. Point guard Larry Austin Jr. did ask to be released from their letters of intent from Tennessee after Martin departed from the Vols, and I imagine both will get a call. Austin does have a Cal offer, but Georgetown, Providence, Butler, Creighton and Kansas State are all in the mix as well. Do not expect Jordan Cornish to join-Wake Forest, Nebraska and SMU are his final three.
Larry Austin Jr. Will visit Xavier this weekend. Georgetown, Providence, Cal, Butler, Creighton and Kansas State all strong in the mix.

Another potential point guard is Shelton Mitchell, who was granted a release from his letter of intent at Wake Forest after coaching upheaval at his school.
Good news is that Kingsley Okoroh has faxed in his letter of intent, so Cal's 2014 recruiting class is currently not at zero players. Idrissa Diallo still remains in limbo.
Home in England, #Cal commit @Kingokoroh -- who faxed his LOI in Tuesday!!! -- still finds time to go 1on1 w/ us ($) https://t.co/e5ZQP8Mqvw
