Bishop O'Dowd center Ivan Rabb is a consensus top recruit. He's a top ten national recruit, a top two power forward, and the best 2015 prospect in the state of California. He is not expected to make his decison until the spring, so Cal basketball recruiting is currently on that slow grind right now.
But a small update did trickle out today; Rabb trimmed his list from seven to five today.
Breaking News: Ivan Rabb tells http://t.co/lJe7Dgw25o Arizona California, Kansas, Kentucky and UCLA are officially his final 5 schools.

Let's break them down.
California Golden Bears: Hometown team! That Cal has made it this far is a definite good sign. Cuonzo Martin has been burning up the recruiting trail and it seems to be paying off.
Arizona Wildcats: This feels like Cal's biggest competitors. Sean Miller has made a concerted effort to land almost every Bay Area prospect, and he's already gotten Brandon Ashley and Aaron Gordon the past two years.
UCLA Bruins: Also a big worry. UCLA generally gets their pick of the litter of the top recruits, so if the Bruins decide to go after Rabb, it's a tough uphill road.
Kentucky Wildcats: Remember when the Bears seemed to be in the mix for Marcus Lee last year, only to have him get wowed away by an incredible trip to Lexington? Rabb's trip to Kentucky is this weekend. If he gets through that without a commitment, we're in the game.
Kansas Jayhawks: Weird to think that Rock Chalk Jayhawk is the dark horse here. That's the feeling I get though.
Georgetown and North Carolina were the two schools eliminated from contention.
Hey, it won't be easy to get Rabb, but we're in the game!
