As I am writing this I am watching LSU's offense pick apart the (oh, they just scored again) Auburn defense. While watching the game one big question comes to mind: When will Cal be a Pac-12 force again? It's a question every one of us Cal fans asks and we hope the answer is sooner rather than later. Because, ever since the debacle of 2007, the Bears have continuously finished in the bottom half of the conference. And it's frustrating for Cal fans because whenever we are asked about our football team, we just have to start bragging about our academics because we would rather not talk about our team.
Now don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with bragging about academics it's just... you know it would be nice to be able to talk about our team. So when will we be able to brag about how good our team is? We definitely have the foundations for a team that could make some noise down the road but how long is that road? And is there even an end to that road? Because it feels like every year we always say " Man, we are going to be good next year. We were just young this year." Are the Bears just doomed to be eternally "good next year". I don't believe so. The team, though they may not be winning a lot so far this year, is definitely talented and full of potential. The Bears will be good and they will be a force in the Pac-12 again. We just have to wait and be happy that we can at least brag about something right now. The road to the top is sure to be bumpy, but the question is, how long is that road? Give me your thoughts below.
As always I will see you next Saturday to break down the good, the bad, and the ugly of the game against the university of Nike. Go bears!
