College Football Opening Weekend: Friday Open Thread

US PRESSWIRE

Last night, the 2013 college football season kicked off its opening weekend with a bevy of Thursday games. The schedule rolls on tonight with a handful of games under the Friday night lights, including Sparty in action against in-state foe Western Michigan.

Tonight is a big night for high school football throughout this great nation of ours. Friday Night Lights! I wonder whom the Dillon Panthers are playing tonight. How will they get along without Coach Taylor?!?

But I digress. Tonight is also the night for more hot college football opening weekend action. A few more televised games dot our schedule tonight. Here they are (all times Pacific):

Friday, August 30th
Morgan State at Army 4:00 p.m. CBSSN: 221 (HD)
Florida Atlantic at Miami 5:00 p.m. ESPNU: 208 (HD)
Texas Tech at SMU 5:00 p.m. ESPN: 206 (HD)
Western Michigan at Michigan State 5:00 p.m. BTN: 610 (HD)
North Dakota State at Kansas State 5:30 p.m. FS1: 219 (HD)

Okay, so maybe we don't have the most attractive set of games tonight. But hey: it's football, amirite? Just a little more action to get you psyched up for Cal's opener tomorrow night.

Enjoy the games. This is your open thread to talk about all the action.
