Joe Mixon top 5: Florida, Cal, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Oregon

Joe Mixon - Student Sports

The Golden Bears are very much in the running for the top 2014 Bay Area prospect.

The Joe Mixon recruiting watch continues. The Oakley (Ca.) Freedom running back has put together his top five. We already knew Cal was in it, but who else?

Florida took two running backs last year and already has Dalvin Cook signed up for this recruiting class. Their depth chart is stacked too. But the Gators would gladly take Mixon on board as well to pair up with Cook, and Mixon is very high on the Gators.

Cal has two running backs on board in Tre Watson and Vic Enwere, but the Bears definitely could use some depth here.

Oklahoma landed the verbal commitment of Samaje Perine. But Mixon would definitely be the number one running back between the two and the Sooners definitely plan on taking two running backs in this class. Mixon is visiting Oklahoma October 4th.

Wisconsin has a verbal from Taiwan Deal. The Badgers have some issues with their overall running back depth, so landing Mixon would be a huge, huge get.

Oregon was the final member of the list. The Ducks got the big commitment from Royce Freeman already, so they already have to consider themselves winners on the recruiting trail. Mixon would be the cherry on the top.

Nonetheless, it's nice to see that Cal is well in the running
