While playing in a Pro-Am game in San Francisco Monday evening, senior point guard Justin Cobbs broke a bone - a fracture of the fifth metatarsal, according to a press release - in his foot, which will sideline him for about two months. It is as of yet undetermined on whether or not he will need surgery.
Although the timetable provided means that Cobbs probably be back in time for the beginning of the season on October 31st, it is a huge blow for the Bears to lose him for any amount of time at all. With Allen Crabbe already gone and so many new freshmen to integrate, the team was undoubtedly counting on the two time All-Pac 12 guard to help shoulder the scoring burden, as well as provide a steadying presence in preparation for the season, as well as during it.
How do you think this impacts the team this fall - or will it?
