DBD 7.12.13 An ode to #sharknado

Most of you have probably heard of Syfy. It's a channel that purportedly specializes in Science Fiction programming. In reality, it's become a popular destination for terrible straight to TV movies.

First, there was the immortal MegaShark vs Giant Octopus. The trailer can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiyRaxu5QNQ. I don't want to spoil anything but the MegaShark takes out the Golden Gate Bridge!

I think there have been sequels. For example, there's a movie called MegaShark vs Crocasaurus that Google tells me exists. Crocasaurus looks angry!

But all that was in the past. That was building up to something special. Something unprecedented. Something that even the most demented SyFy producer (cough CBG's friend cough) could imagine. And that was the #sharknado.

Now, most of you probably see the word Sharknado and think "shark + tornado." And you'd be mostly right. But also, so, so wrong. Because the sharknado is so much more than giant, vicious sharks swirled around in 3 tornados hovering over and around downtown L.A... though that is true. No, sharknoados are Tara Reid, Ian Zeiring, and a host of no name actors acting horrified in front of a green screen. Sharknados are phenomenon that blow up Twitter, dominate Facebook, and leave you want more.

Sharknados are incidents like this masqerading as prime time TV. Sharknados are... magical.

TL,DR: watch sharknado... now.
