Cal Basketball Photo Essay Of Nightmares

Bob Stanton-USA TODAY Sports

Who wants to relive Cal basketball getting blown out by Stanford in photo form? Of course you don't. That's why we made it!

Here are the things that didn't suck about Wednesday night's game.

  • The crowd. Really one of the most electric environments I've ever been in, either at Haas or Memorial. And I've never heard Haas the way it was last night. There were loud cheers when we rallied to cut a 20 point deficit to 14, and loud boos when a Pac-12 ref picked his nose. If we keep on getting environments like this, it won't be long before the Bears are rocking both of the big sports on a consistent basis.

  • Senior Day! Always good to see players get their due, even if they're not quite laden with star talent. Although the specter of Allen Crabbe leaving early is still present, it was a festive start to the night.

  • The Stanfurd Band was mercilessly booed. A ten-star trollerific performance from them (bringing their special Rose Bowl drum, cheering on Stanford after they instigated a near-brawl on the court, chanting the UCLA cheer after every Cal fight song chorus). They're the worst.

  • The Stanfurd Tree was mercilessly booed.

  • Stanfurd fans cheered for a little bit and were mercilessly mocked for being Stanfurd fans. They are not pictured because we still have no proof they exist.

Regardless. We proceed with the photos.

Cal Band Great!

Pregame moments include the national anthem,

The final intro.

And last minute prep.

Some action shots. Here's Allen Crabbe at the line.

Here's Richard Solomon driving baseline.

Here's David Kravish hitting a tough hook just before halftime.

Should be noted that Cal scored on all three of these shots. Casuation/correlation, clearly should have taken photos of every shot.

Here's Oski doing what only Oski can do.

He's a busy bear with places to go.

Nice to see that Marshawn is in town.

Cal fans being Cal fans!

The second half didn't deserve many pictures. Here's all I managed.
