Kelley L Cox-US PRESSWIRE
After being told that he would not receive playing time last week, the senior opts to find playing time elsewhere.
Last week, Sonny Dykes told Allan Bridgford that he would not be receiving many reps moving forward, effectively eliminating him from the quarterback competition. The team gave him a few days off to make a decision on his future, and it seems that he has made up his mind to leave Berkeley.
Today I asked for my release from the CAL football team. I plan on graduating this summer and transferring 2 another school 2 play football

It is unfortunate that it had to end this way for the former four star prospect, who never seemed to fully recover from a shoulder injury suffered back in 2010. Still, he got a fair shot during the first few spring practices - as promised - only to find himself outclassed by his younger competitors. Combining that with his seniority, and the writing was on the wall.
We wish him all the best, wherever it is that he ends up. Thanks for your time here, Allan.
