My seat partner and I went at Sunday 1pm. We were pleased with our original seats last season, but did not enjoy the fan experience as in the past because of those near us. We're in our late 40's and everyone around us was way over 60, some in their late 70's. Just say'n....
We decided to make a day of it. Burgers & beers before hand, Select-a-Seat, more beers elsewhere. We also had a friend along who is a big football fan, a guy who had a Raiders PSL for years until 3 years ago. We arrived at the 12:30 arrival time and had 25 minutes to kill until the brief intro by Kevin. He did mention the Field Club area was open for viewing, but did not tell us that there were refreshments.
Last season we were victims of the huge field goal net poles, one blocked a huge portion of the field between the hashmarks. In speaking with Kevin before his intro he indicated that there were several options still being discussed, and that Allstate pays alot of money for those nets.
With that piece of info we figured we would look outside of Sec B, towards C. Our friend was very impressed with the stadium, those two went to visit the men's room so he saw the concourse, etc. He decided to join us, so we were now looking for 3 seats. We found seats in Sec C, in the 40's, just two in off the isle. Great height, angles, etc. We are very pleased! Hopefully we have a mix of cool fans around us.
Several players were on the field at our time slot. Fortt, Powe, Robinson, and two others who I dont recall. Another guy approached them and engaged them in conversation, so I turned around and joined the chat. He asked them about spring practice (today), the new playbook, etc. Powe said they've been studying the playbook for several weeks, like the new coaches, etc. I asked Fortt how his knee was doing, remembering that during the season he was limping noticeably when he walked. He looked me dead in the eye and said, "It's 100%. I'm ready to play."
