The Bears's road series at UC Irvine continues today with a double header. Can the Bears finally break through and get a road win against a ranked opponent? GO BEARS!

Against the Anteater's ace Andrew Thurman and despite only 4+ innings from Cal starter Justin Jones, the Bears had a good opportunity to win the game on Friday night. Bears tied up the game at 3 in the top of the 7th and got a guy (Jacob Wark on his 2nd triple of the day) on 3rd with less than two outs to chase Thurman. However, the Bears ended up stranding that runner and proceed to cough up 2 runs (thanks to more defensive miscues) to the Anteaters to fell 5-3.

The series continue today at noon with a double header.

Listen to the call here (UC Irvine radio). Follow the stats via Gametracker (game 1, game 2)or Cal Baseball twitter (@Cal_Baseball).

Here are the pitching matchup:

Game 2: LHP Matt Whitehouse (1-0) vs. LHP Kyle Porter (0-0)
12:00 PM
Game 3: RHP Kyle Hooper (0-0) vs. TBA

Can the Bears (3-2) play a clean game defensively today and get one or two road wins against No. 21/25 UC Irvine (4-0)? The 4 game series concludes tomorrow.

GO BEARS!
