Last night I downloaded the "best of 2013" podcast from All Songs Considered. It's becoming an annual ritual because the hosts usually cover some interesting music that I didn't catch over the course of the year. Of course, listening to All Songs Considered during the year would mean that I wouldn't be finding out about this music now, but that would require that I listen to their twee, unfunny, "oh we love being nerds" NPR tomfoolery that keeps me from listening to anything but the news there, and that only during crises.
It doesn't make any sense, because surely "unfunny nerds" and "strong opinions about music" is my Venn overlap.
Other things I don't like as much as I probably should:
- my fellow alumni
- squash (given that it is inoffensive and a winter staple at my house)
- public transportation
- vigorous exercise
- automatic transmissions
