Cal All-Time Series vs. the Trojans: 11-51
Last meeting: L, 3-2 (10-6-2013)
Why should you care?
Despite some lackluster losses to lesser teams this year, the Bears have battled hard against the best competition. Down in LA earlier this season, the Bears pushed the Trojans to 5 sets in a very exciting match. Will the homecourt advantage be the difference for a W tonight?
Who to watch?
Freshman libero Maddy Kerr was named the Freshman of the Week by the conference, thanks to her Cal record tying 33 digs in 5 sets against Oregon last Friday. Watch her interview with Pac-12.com, below, where she talked about her team and her famous father: 5x NBA Champ Steve Kerr.
Middle blocker Lara Vukasovic really stood out against the Oregon schools last week, hitting nearly 0.500 for both matches. Senior Outside hitter Adrienne Gehan reached the 1000 kill mark for her Cal career, only the 15th player to get there.
What is at stake?
Bears are still in the hunt for a conference title, but more realistically, they are just trying to stay above 0.500 in the tough Pac-12 play. A win over a top notch USC team tonight would go a long way toward the Bears being ranked in the top 25 and having a chance to host the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament.
