In all likelihood today will not be a record setting day for inanity by volume, given that some key offenders contributors, by volume as well as content, have the day off. Still, no harm in having a DBD for those intrepid souls who are at work because they work for a bunch of racists welcome the opportunity to have more of their surplus value expropriated add value.
So today's theme is: what is something that you enjoy that nobody would have expected? We spend a lot of time being definitive about what we do like / dislike, so it's no surprise to discover that I like mid-century modern houses and CalBear81 enjoys something more classic in a house, or that AndBears likes data-crunching, or that Twist likes klezmer music. Here's your chance to reveal your hidden depths! Or, in my case, hidden shallows: for example, after having spent years "enjoying" hearing me crank Aphex Twin or Motorhead or Fugazi or Mudhoney, you could have knocked my wife over with the proverbial feather when I fell for the fey charms of "If you're feeling sinister" by Belle and Sebastian, and admitted to _loving_ the film "The Coal Miner's Daughter."
So what's your unexpected pleasure? (Supporting teams coached by Pete Carroll and Jim Harbaugh is sufficiently well documented that those may count for only half a point in the opening round.)
