The NFL playoffs continue this weekend with the divisional round. I have long thought that this is the best weekend in the sport. While the opening wild card weekend can have its share of excitement (though last week, not that much, amirite?), the divisional round is when the creme de la creme get back in action. After enjoying a well earned bye week, the top two teams in each conference get back to the field.
Here is your schedule for the weekend:
SATURDAY, JAN. 12
at No. 1 Denver Broncos 4:30 p.m. ET, CBS |
SUNDAY, JAN. 13
at No. 2 New England Patriots |
SATURDAY, JAN. 12
at No. 2 San Francisco 49ers |
SUNDAY, JAN. 13
at No. 1 Atlanta Falcons |
If you enjoy watching Cal alumni the NFL, the marquee game for you might be the Seahawks/Falcons game on Sunday. Marshawn Lynch and Brandon Mebane for the Seahawks; Thomas DeCoud and Tony Gonzalez for the Falcons. Tough call, right? Do you root for the Seahawks and Beast Mode, or do you root for the Falcons in the quest to get Tony G to his first Super Bowl?
And how about you 49ers and Cal fans out there? Are you just a little bit conflicted about Aaron Rodgers going up against Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers?
And, BTW, you think Aaron Rodgers might have 2005 on his mind?
This is your open thread for the weekend. Enjoy the games.
