So a lot of stuff has gone down in the last few days in terms of Cal football recruiting. For those of you were hoping to see a little more excitement prior to NSD, you got it.
As always, check out our Cal recruiting board for all the latest updates on who we're recruiting and where they're going!
Tyler Foreman, Crespi Carmelite High School Safety, has decommitted from Wisconsin. Remember Foreman was specifically recruited by coach Buh when he was in Madison. Make of that what you will.
Encino (Calif.) Crespi safety Tyler Foreman said he has officially decommitted from Wisconsin...

To add insult to injury, Foreman is claiming that the Badgers aren't even a possibility for him anymore. Ouch.
Tyler Foreman, a 4* safety, said of Wisconsin to Scout.com: "They're completely out." #badgers

As of now, 247 Sports has Foreman most interested in Cal and UCLA.
Andy Buh recruited him to Wisky, now DC at Cal RT @brandonhuffman: Crespi safety Tyler Foreman has officially decommitted from Wisconsin...

We got a good shot at getting this guy.
Also, Foreman's teammate, outside linebacker/defensive end Raymond Davison, Northwestern commit, has had his offer pulled from Northwestern because he recently took an official to Cal.
Apparently, he was set on Northwestern until his visit to Berkeley.
Inside #Northwestern DE commit Ray Davison's #Cal offer, which is making things difficult for the Crespi lineman ($) shar.es/4GbyS

Apparently-and this is pretty old school- Northwestern has a very firm policy on athletic commitments, even if they are just verbal. I guess commits are not allowed to go visit other schools after they commit to NW.
Pat Fitzgerald's policy believes firmly in a commitment. He was fair to Ray Davison, and the three-star linebacker understood his philosphy.

I hope we end up getting Davidson. He seems like a strong fit for our program. He is clearly is interested in academics judging by his school selections, and says he even wants to be an accountant.
Check out New Math: At 6-foot-2, 215 pounds, Ray Davison will be the biggest accountant you’ll ever meet. The on... bit.ly/XLG5WP

Apparently Davidson and several other teammates will be visiting Cal not this weekend, but in the near future. I'm assuming the other teammates include Foreman, not sure who the other ones are.
Hearing Ray Davison and teammates won't visit #Cal this weekend but soon. Former #Northwestern commit.

Also, Arizona commit Tony Mekari is compelled to take a serious look at Cal now that he has been offered.
Here's what ESPN has to say on him:
"Mekari comes across as a tough and physical football player. He looks to predominately play offensive tackle and defensive end for his high school team, but at the college level he will likely slide inside to D-Tackle or offensively move to guard." -ESPN Analyst, ESPN.com
However, an Arizona beat writer-Jason Scheer- is doubtful that the visit will actually happen.
Arizona commit Tony Mekari will visit Arizona this weekend. I would be surprised if the Cal visit happens

Brandon Arnold, a safety, and another prospect from Crespi Carmelite, just recently got an in-home visit from Cal. He may be another one of the Crespi guys who is coming up to visit with Davidson in the next few weeks.
What did Brandon Arnold think about his in-home visit from #Cal? Find out here! ($): mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=166&…

Also, 3 star Safety/CB Patrick Enewally from Gahr High School recently got an in-home visit as well.
We know that Akins decommitted earlier this week, but it looks like Trey Cheek is still on board based on his tweets.
Finally heard from coach

I'm sure Dykes didn't want to contact Cheek before he had the defensive coaches sorted out. Glad to have Cheek still with us.
Tustin High School linebacker, Edward Tandy, recently got an offer from Cal and has a visit scheduled in the coming weeks.
Tustin (CA) linebacker Edward Tandy has one OV planned for Jan: to #Cal on the 25th. #goBears

3 star Athlete, Darius Allensworth from Heritage High School, recently posted his senior year highlight tape prior to his knee injury. Allensworth was injured early in his season, and has to sit out the rest of the year.

He looks pretty nasty. Love to see him play corner or safety for us. Could definitely be a sleeper recruit.
Not so good. De La Salle DE/TE Austin Hooper is taking an official to Stanford this weekend. Not sure if Stanford has also offered Hooper a chance to play TE. If so, he may end up there because both of their starting tight ends are leaving for the draft.
Concord (Calif.) De La Salle ATH Austin Hooper will take an OV to #Stanford this weekend, big visit weekend for Cardinal

Highly versatile player from Wilsonville High School, LB/DE/FB/HB Johnny Ragin the III, BYU commit, is seriously considering offers from both Iowa and at Cal at this point.

Offensive Tackle from Santa Margartia High School, Riley Sorenson will be taking official visits to both Cal and Washington. He hasn't committed anywhere at this point, but says he'll do so after his visits.
Riley Sorenson, 6'5" 300lb OT from Cali., will OV to #Cal and #UW. He also said he will make his decision after those two visits.

Some good news. Aaron Cochran, massive offensive tackle from Buhach High School, will likely decide after his visit to Cal. For those of you who have been reading Golden Recruiting Wire, you know how quiet Cochran has been about his commitment status.
He also just got an offer from Vandy.
2013 Buhach Colony OT Aaron Cochran has received an offer from Vanderbilt

That's all for now. More news will be coming in on how these visits went over the next couple of weeks. Go Bears!
