The NFL is back! Week one is here. We all have our individual favorite teams to root for, sure. But we can all root for the former Cal players to do well, amirite?
Speaking of Cal football alumni, Marshawn Lynch was listed as questionable this week but the word is he will play today for the Seahawks in their opener against the Cardinals. On the other hand, you won't see Shane Vereen today in uniform for the Patriots: Vereen is out with an injury. Jahvid Best won't play today for the Lions either, as he is on the PUP list and will be inactive for the first six weeks (at least) of the season.
If you're a 49ers fan, you're a little torn: the Niners take on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in the marquee late game today.
A little bit of a homecoming today for Cal great Tony Gonzalez: the Atlanta Falcons tight end is playing at Kansas City against his old team.
Scott Fujita may see action today for the Browns against the Eagles after his bounty suspension was lifted.
Enjoy the games and pepper the comments with any notable Cal alum action you see out there.
