31 Yards Per Carry

Based on my extensive analyses of 2012 statistics, I predict that Cal will have the best running game in the country for the 2013 season.

Assuming our #1 and #2 or 1a/1b running backs next season are going to be Brendan Bigelow and Daniel Lasco, overwhelming evidence suggests that the Cal running game can be counted on to generate about 31 yards per carry.

2012 stats so far:

Bigelow

6 carries, 175 yards, 29 ypc

Lasco

2 carries, 74 yards, 37 ypc

Together:

8 carries, 249 yards, 31 ypc.

That means all we have to do is commit to the run, and depending on field position, we get a touchdown in 2-3 plays on every possession. My guess is that the NCAA will have to institute some kind of mercy rule by the end of next season.
