Jordan Wynn's Forced Retirement

Jordan Wynn's forced retirement at Utah has been a big story in San Diego, since he played high school football at perennial power Oceanside and his brother is a junior QB at Mission Hills. Wynn had a solid career, but certainly did not may Utes fans forget about Alex Smith. No one wants to see anyone's career ended, but his absence certainly won't hurt Cal's chances in Salt Lake City in October. Travis Wilson, a freshman QB from SoCal (San Clemente) may be playing by then, and lest we forget ...

Wynn's breakout game came in the Holiday Bowl against our Golden Bears. He entered the game having completed 55% (78/143) of his passes for 991 yards (5 games). He left as the Holiday Bowl MVP having completed 72% of his passes for 338 yards and 3 touchdowns. (Ouch!)

So the Bears have been known to make stars out of freshman Utah quarterbacks.
