There is a rather melancholy rendition on Youtube here. I'm not sure that I fully appreciated the melancholic tinge to Shel Silverstein in my childhood (and perhaps I still don't), and "the missing piece" could be any number of things- personal development, professional advancement, romantic entanglement, &c. So, what are you seeking? Or, what did you seek, and did you find it?
