For those of you following Cal's 11:00 am showdown at Oregon St., you can follow via gametracker or twitter.

After a four game slumber Cal's bats awoke with authority in a desperately needed 9-4 victory over Washington St. As is usually the case, Tony Renda was in the middle of Cal's offense, but this time his teammates helped out. Mitch Delfino, Danny Oh, Brenden Farney and Mike Reuvekamp all reached base three times each, and Chad Bunting ended any drama with an exclamation point three run homer.

Matt Flemer wasn't nearly as sharp as he's been all year long, but he didn't need to be perfect to pick up the win. Lots of credit should go to a patient, talented WSU lineup. Flemer and Kyle Porter were in and out of trouble all game long and Washington St. ended up leaving 11 men on base, but Cal somehow managed to get outs when they had to.

Of course, yesterday's win won't mean much if the Bears don't win the series this afternoon. A 2-4 road trip is hardly ideal, but it would keep the specter of post-season play alive with a two week home stand up next. Justin Jones will start today against a to be announced Cougar. Go Bears!
