Cal Athletics Sells Old Memorial Benches To Berkeley Woodshop "Wooden Duck"

Thanks to "HelloBowlesHall" for finding this, I wanted to provide the link here to more information from The Wooden Duck: We now officially own the rest of the Cal Memorial Stadium bleachers. 145,000 board feet of Alaskan Yellow Cedar (aka Port Ord Cedar) from 1923... That's the biggest (and possibly the most important) transaction in Wooden Duck's almost 20 years ! Scary, but judging from the early reviews it will be a profitable and fun venture! Please tell your Cal friends and people who just love wood. We were very happy to pull together this deal in the 11th hour before the wood was shipped to Mexico !!! Looks like Cal Athletics was about to send it to Mexico, so it is good to keep it local. Here is the Wooden Duck website. Perhaps we'll follow up with the Wooden Duck and see what people's options are to get things made out of those bleachers we all sat/stood on for the last 90 years!
