ESPN GameDay Commercial Contest Back On

+

NOTE: I am writing this because I haven't seen this covered on CGB since ESPN revamped the voting process. Since the last gameday voting competition was clearly hacked, ESPN changed the voting process and now the contest runs from May 1st through May 10th (11:59 PM ET). Here are the changes in the voting procedures (via cornnation.com): "…You have to log in via Facebook; they didn't try to repair their broken e-mail system. If you don't have a Facebook account (or don't want to expose your Facebook information to ESPN), you can't participate. A "captcha" is now in place for each vote; it's one of those things where they show you a scribbled word that you have to type in. That will slow down any robots as well. … they will only release vote totals once a day at noon…" I want to encourage everyone to vote because Cal is currently in 62nd place. Washington St. somehow has 25,357 votes (is that more than the population of Pullman?) Here are the totals for the Pac-12: Washington St – 25,357 Washington – 4491 Oregon – 1361 Oregon St – 1314 Utah – 822 USC – 696 Colorado – 647 Arizona – 615 Cal – 569 Arizona St – 344 UCLA – 198 Stanford – 90 That total for Washington St is pretty ridiculous and might involve some sort of hacking, but I know we can do better than this. You can vote by going to gamedayvote.com, but you will need to login through facebook. Go vote daily and then post it on facebook and twitter to encourage everyone else to do the same!
