Coach Tedford is meeting with the media this afternoon to talk about spring practice, which begins next week.
John Breech has relayed some bad news from Tedford: Eric Stevens, Marc Anthony, and Dominic Galas will miss spring practice. Doug Drabik confirms and adds that Stefan McClure (obviously), Michael Coley, Brennan Scarlett, and Dasarte Yarnway will also sit out this spring. It appear that all are recovering from injuries or offseason procedures.
Other news and notes:
- Zach Maynard and Allan Bridgford are (not surprisingly) the top two QBs going into spring. Others, including Kline will split the third-team reps.
- Ben Calder and Vince D'Amato will get reps as punters this spring. Tight end Richard Rodgers will also try his hand at punting. Yes, you read that correctly.
- Tedford and Allen have not yet discussed the NFL but they will probably talk about it this summer. Tedford says Allen will have a limited role this spring to give others more chances to work/develop.
- Brendan Bigelow and Daniel Lasco will have a "big spring" according to Tedford.
- Spring game is schedule for April 21st. Tedford has not decided if it will be a scrimmage or an actual game.
We'll keep you updated as Tedford discloses more news (hopefully not more bad news).
