Michigan v. Virginia Tech - Sugar Bowl Open Thread
What a crazy day of football yesterday! Perhaps the insanity will continue today as Michigan takes on Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl:
While there’s controversy surrounding the fact that two SEC schools will play for the BCS championship in New Orleans, there’s also some about the game taking place at the Superdome six days earlier.
The Sugar Bowl will pit No. 13 Michigan and No. 17 Virginia Tech in a matchup of marquee programs that received invitations to Tuesday’s contest ahead of higher-ranked teams.
The decision by the Sugar Bowl to bypass teams like No. 8 Boise State and No. 11 Kansas State in favor of Michigan (10-2) and Virginia Tech (11-2) has sparked anger from those that were snubbed. These high-profile programs are expected to draw interest to a game that will be overshadowed by the Jan. 9 championship between LSU and Alabama.

I don’t know why everyone gets on this guy. I think he is a decent ref and I think the 2009 Big Game was probably the best officiated game I have seen in ages (ie, no pointless holding penalties)
I think it's his voice
He always sounds mad!

The Pac-12 crew just missed a false start on the Michigan kicker
Why couldn’t they have missed that call in the 2010 Cal-Oregon game?

I'm watching the game using the updated ESPN 3 app for Xbox Live.
It’s just as good as my TV quality.

How does it compare to regular ESPN3?
While it’s great that ESPN3 is in HD, the actual video quality isn’t as good as it could be.

I just set up a hardwire connection for my Xbox as opposed to wireless
Wireless had some noticeable artifacts. With a hardwire the quality is pretty much HDTV quality with very little to no buffering issues to speak of.

So, uh...
Did anyone else see the game-winning Michigan kick in OT? Didn’t it look like the Michigan kicker did the same false start stutter-step that Tavecchio did in the Oregon game last year that got flagged and moved back for a re-kick? Or was there a difference that I missed?

Yet he got no flag.
