NFL Divisional Playoffs: Weekend Open Thread
This weekend is one that I have long considered the best weekend in pro football. This is NFL Divisional Playoff weekend. We get four games in two days as the NFL's elite eight pare themselves down to a final four.
Here is your schedule (all times Pacific)--
SATURDAY, JANUARY 14
New Orleans Saints (14-3) at San Francisco 49ers (13-3), 1:30 pm
Denver Broncos (9-8) at New England Patriots (13-3), 5:00 pm
SUNDAY, JANUARY 15
Houston Texans (11-6) at Baltimore Ravens (12-4), 10:00 am
New York Giants (10-7) at Green Bay Packers (15-1), 1:30 pm
There are not a whole lot of Cal football alumni to watch this weekend. With the Patriots' Andre Carter and the Broncos' Syd'Quan Thompson out with injuries, that leaves Cameron Jordan (Saints), Brian De la Puente (Saints), Mike Mohamed (Broncos), Aaron Rodgers (Packers), Desmond Bishop (Packers), and...
DAVID BINN!
Binn, Cal's long snapper in the early 90s and the San Diego Chargers' long snapper for more than 16 years, signed Friday with the Denver Broncos and will handle the Broncos' long snapping duties.
This is your open thread for the games. Enjoy!

Drew Brees got straight fooled on that post route. Goldson baited him into the post route.
Looking at the replay, looks like Brees had his body and feet turned to the right, making it easier for the safety to make a play on the ball.

Pringles: Originally as a reference to Charles “Lol” Pringle, Cal Golden bear from the 1898 Football team, it has become a verb and substitute for LOL. One can pringle in response to a joke, state simple ‘pringles’ or ‘pqtm’ – shorthand for pringled quietly to myself. Many have found this seems to fit the experience of one’s response when reading humorous comments better than LOL.
