The Class of 2011

is basically completely fucked. We’re not getting anybody, although I’ve read that they’re looking at a pair of players for that class. In the fanshots, there’s a link to a story about a 2012 commitment, a very good shortstop from San Ramon Valley HS.

Eric Jaffe, the prize of the Class of 2010 (threw heat), is at UCLA now. Bosco (I think that’s his name) is at Arkansas now, he was a power hitting out fielder. Think there was 4 transfers.

NACDA DIrector's cup implications

Based on North Carolina getting eliminated yesterday, they cannot pass us in the NACDA DIrector’s cup standings so we will finish ahead of them. We will pass Duke based on our CWS appearance, but might be leapfrogged by Florida who won’t finish any lower than 4th in the CWS. So we are essentially guaranteed either a 3rd or 4th place finish — our best finish ever!

Back to the transfers...

Thanks for your prior comments on the matter.

So, would Jaffe and Bosco been in the lineup during these CWS games??? I’m just wondering if this CWS team could have been even better had it not been for the admin’s handling of the matter.

Eric Jaffe, the prize of the Class of 2010 (threw heat), is at UCLA now. Bosco (I think that’s his name) is at Arkansas now, he was a power hitting out fielder. …Brett Bishop went to a JC in Fresno, I think he had like 12 AB last year.

by concordtom on Jun 23, 2011 5:31 PM PDT reply actions

Honestly, concordtom, I don’t know that Cal would be in the CWS right now if it hadn’t been for the whole cancellation of baseball thing. It gave them a motivation and a unity I’m not sure they would have had otherwise.

Jaffe might’ve been a bullpen arm, but he didn’t pitch at all for UCLA this year.
