Cal Baseball vs. Virginia: College World Series Gamethread
Time: 11:00 am pacific time
TV: ESPN, Mike Patrick, Robin Ventura and Jenn Brown announcing
Video Stream: ESPN3
Audio Stream: KALX radio
Radio: 90.7 FM, 960 AM
Gametracker
Wow, look how far we've come. From the choice of following games on KALX or gametracker, there are no less than six ways to keep track of the action. Personally I'd recommend booting up the KALX stream while watching ESPN on mute. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, listen to the ESPN broadcast and take a shot every time the announcers mention that Cal baseball was going to be cut after this year and see if you can make it to the 7th inning stretch.
Power righty Erik Johnson (7-4, 2.91) has been announced as Cal's starter. Virginia has avoided the temptation to save Danny Hultzen (12-3, 1.49) for game 2 and the Cavalier lefty will attempt to avoid the fate that befell #1 draft pick Gerrit Cole of UCLA when he faced Johnson earlier this year.
The climax to an unlikely, unbelievable, unforgettable season starts now. GO BEARS!

The #1 greatest threat to America: BEARS
As someone whose used both bats
I can personally testify that the bbcor new bats have much less pop than the old bats.

I always thought that there wasn't much of a difference, and that the speed of a swing is much more important.
I’ve only used aluminum bats in high school so let me know if I’m off-base here. (see what I did there?)
The difference is pretty noticeable
Some times it’s just a hitter being angry and making excuses, but it still has an effect. The old bats had a ridiculous amount of jump off the bat and overall pop, while these our similar to wood bats(I don’t have much experience with those though)
