Game 2 Gametracker
Yesterday's game was rained out, meaning Cal and Oregon State will attempt to play a double header today. Shockingly, it might actually rain two days in a row in the Pacific Northwest, so be wary of delays today. Still, I'd anticipate both teams will do whatever they can to get as much as possible in today, because there's rain in the forecast again tomorrow and we've got to get these games in somehow, right?
You can find series previews here and here. Game 1 matches up Erik Johnson and Sam Gaviglio, and Game 2 has Justin Jones facing Josh Osich. Four starting pitchers with ERAs between 1.94 and 3.32 means runs will be at a premium, though we'll see how the conditions impact things. Go Bears!

Don’t know. Just saw the line score on Gametracker. Ultimately it didn’t matter as we gave up a couple more runs. You might be able to go back to Gametracker to see.
The final score of game 1 was 3-0 Beavos
Cal outhit the Beavers, 9-2, against Oregon State’s top starter, junior right-hander Sam Gaviglio, who improved his record to 9-1, throwing 6.1 innings with five hits, one walk and 10 strikeouts. Johnson (5-2, 7.0 innings, two hits, three runs, six walks, nine strikeouts), was as equally impressive as he had given up a run in the second inning on a sacrifice fly, but didn’t yield a hit until an infield single to shortstop to begin the bottom of the seventh inning.
In the seventh inning, Oregon State’s Brian Stamps got the big hit with a two-run pinch hit double off of Johnson.
Keeping January 1 open. You know, just in case.
After losing game 1,
Cal wins game 2 6-2! Tony Renda got the big hit with a 2 run homer in the 5th that made the score 3-1, and Cal’s offense added a few runs late for insurance. Justin Jones threw a complete game 6 hitter, so the pitching staff should be very fresh tomorrow. Despite playing a double header, the bullpen only had to pick up 1 inning on the day.

Stop that!
Don’t beat us, it’s not nice! Bear on Beaver violence! That’s a size mismatch!
I'll take a split
of a doubleheader on the road against the #3 team in the country. Opportunity to take the series tomorrow . . . anyone can win just one game on any given day and a series win against OSU would be HUGE. GO BEARS!
