Sunday was a beautiful day to ride a bike from Oakland to Berkeley and catch the Bears take on the Oregon Ducks in baseball.
Apropos sign is apropos.
More Going Bears! picture fun after the jump!
The Campenile guided our way.
Check out that sweet bell my mom got me for Christmas last year.
It was one of those epically gorgeous Berkeley afternoons Sunday.
Damnit! Looking at this photo reminds me that we totes forgot to go check out construction progress at Memorial. Dang.
Rumor has it the Cal Band rocked Haas Pavilion on Friday.
They should consider washing that wall one of these days.
Love the old-timey vibe of the tickets.
The Save Cal Baseball people greeted us when we got inside. They wanted me to remind everyone that we have $400,000 more to go to get to $10 million. Be sure to visit www.savecalbaseball.com and pledge!
Beetdub, they're also giving out cool buttons to remind people about saving Cal Baseball dot com.
Finally. Some baseball action! My GF said we had a great view. I don't understand what she's talking about, all we could see was the players' butts.... ooooohhh.
The walk of shame: moments after Kevin Miller picked this duck off with a sick move to first.
There's Kevin, doing his thing.
So, before we knew it the Bears were down 4-0 in the 3rd and it was time to wake up the bats. They must've sacrificed a chicken or offered Jobu rum or just told him "Fuck you, Jobu. I do it myself" because the Bears started putting together a few hits and scored a run in the 4th and then a couple more in the 7th to make the game interesting.
My kind of kids: A's fans AND Cal fans.
The view from the enemy side. Those are not the best looking uniforms I've ever seen.
What a shame it would've been if they stopped doing this.
Matt Flemer warming up for the 9th.
This could've been the winning run in the 8th, but we failed to get him home.
THIS was the winning run. I had a hard time framing the action in this photo, but you get the idea.
Wild celebration ensued after Booker drove in the winning run.
#Winning.
And then it was time to grab a celebratory beer in the beer garden.
Because for some reason The Bear's Lair was closed. Is it always closed on Sundays?
#Winning, again. And a pretty nice little Sunday if I do say so.
Go Bears!
