As for the state of California
we seem to have the most recruiting momentum. I’m praying we can stay afloat until we return to memorial. Sadly I’m more excited about 2012 and 2013 seasons than the upcoming one. Seems like thats always the case being a Cal fan.
Eh?
Every year it seems Cal fans think this is the year.
Must still be winter. The optimism doesn’t build back up for a few more months.

“….and the team on the field will not bend, break, nor yield
for they’ll fight like the Big C teams of old
and every time they buck our line I’m sure our time will hold
so vict’ry’s in the sight of California’s might,
so fight fight FIGHT ’EM California!!!”

Kline talking everyone into committing to Cal
… i hope he stays after he arrives on Campus next year.
Zach sounds like Class of 2012’s Mustafa Jalil :)

Totally off the point.....
But you reminded me of something. I was at Cathedral Catholic School in San Diego (where Mustafa Jalil played) this past weekend to watch the CIF championship girls HS soccer game.
Most beautiful high school EVER ! Looked like a small college campus.
I'd like to smell the Roses before I die.
Yeah, no kidding. After reading through it, it’s just awesome to see how many elite prospects are excited for Cal. Can’t wait!

Obviously Great News
But I still find it hard to get excited about recruiting in March. I feel any commitment before October is a soft commit anyway.
Sure, but it’s better that they came to Cal, by all accounts had a GREAT time and were super excited about Cal and Berkeley in general, and seem to seriously be considering us, than that they didn’t have a good time, were not impressed, etc…
California Golden Bears: 2nd place is nothing to sneeze at!

Part of me wants to feel like chowder, and not get too excited about this news. Even so, I cannot recall reading articles this positive in springs past, and it is easy to think that the impending ongoing renovations to Memorial and upcoming completion of the SAHPC are simply changing the level of our football program.
Time to redefine "committed"
I don’t mean to pick on him specifically, because his attitude is not at all unusual nor indefensible from a player’s point of view in today’s recruiting wars, but the following quote from Jordan Payton nonethless made be chuckle:
I’m still committed to USC, of course, but I’m definitely going to give Cal a look as well.Hmm. I wonder what my wife would say if I told her, “I’m still committed to you, of course, but I’m definitely going to give Sheila a look as well.” :-)
Go Bears!
typo
It made be me chuckle as well.

My dad took my mom to a Cal football game for their first date (she didn’t go to Cal). He always said that when she was happy to go to a football game as a first date, he knew she was a Blue Chip Prospect.
I have accepted Twist's unconditional surrender.
Yup. That sounds good enough for at least 4 stars to me. But what was her time in the 40?

Love all the legacies
Thompson. Treggs. Nickerson. All are names I’d love to see in Strawberry Canyon again. And is the Tagaloa kid related to Junior?
Go Bears!
I said this on the DBD, but I’ll say it again. I really liked Brian Treggs. He was always running his mouth, and drove Bruce Snyder kind of crazy with it. But he was funny. (Although it didn’t work out so well when he said he would move to Palo Alto if we lost the 1991 Big Game. We did. He didn’t.)
I have accepted Twist's unconditional surrender.
I liked Treggs, too
He said a few things that weren’t well thought out, but who hasn’t at that age? For the most part, he was funny. And he had passion.
I’ll never forget seeing him at the weekly press luncheon following the Washington game in 1991. You could still see the devastation in his face. He was truly heartbroken at the realization that he would finish his Cal career without having gone to a Rose Bowl.
Yes, I am an Old Blue. Now get off my lawn.
I want to see all of these legacies at Cal
I dream of a day when all of them are able to go home and (lovingly) trash-talk their dads about how they (the sons) were the ones who brought Cal to the Rose Bowl — “Had to finish what you couldn’t, dad.”
Yes, I am an Old Blue. Now get off my lawn.
That would be so nice — and the opposite of my experience. When my dad was at Cal they went to three straight Rose Bowls. He always gave me a hard time about it. “Gee, when I was at Cal we always went to the Rose Bowl. What’s the matter with your generation?”
I have accepted Twist's unconditional surrender.
Good to see a lot of good OL guys there!
Jordan Simmons seemed to have a great time! Scout has him as 4*, 6’5", 335! Would like to see him as a Cal Bear!
Bring back the Pac-10!!!
Think not. Leon’s from NorCal. We might be in good position w/ Darius tho since he’s good friends w/ Todd Barr iirc.
