Joe Lunardi & His Bracketology Lists Cal As 8th Team Out
We're 76th! We're 76th!
Check out over at SBN Bay Area why Cal might still have to win all three games, and why Cal-USC is a bubble elimination match. Also follow all my additional updates/previews/semi-useful info on the Pac-10 tournament stream over at SBN Bay Area.

Not too unlikely.
At first I was skeptical, but Arizona got a #12 at-large seed just two years ago at 19-13 and an RPI of 49. I’m not saying I think we’re even close to a bid without a Pac-10 Tournament win, but it’s there as a shot, and it definitely helps our NIT bid.
"I wish him nothing but pain in his silly travels especially if they wind up in my octagon. Clearly I have defeated this earthworm with my words — imagine what I would have done with my fire breathing fists."
Cal-SC Video Feed Anyone?
Does anyone know if there is a live Pac Tourney video feed available online anywhere? Please help a guy at work out. Thanks!
It seems to me if we lose to USC today, it’s a tossup about the NIT
If we beat SC, we get into the NIT
If we win the 2nd game, there’s a 50-50 chance we get into the NCAA
In any event, this has still been one of the most exciting and rewarding seasons of Cal basketball I can recall. What Monty has done with this team, and the chemistry that’s developed is nothing short of a miracle. Yeah, Miller won the conference and Howland will get his little bruins into the NCAA tournament. But neither of those guys did half as impressive a job as Monty. Seriously, with either Howland or Miller at the helm, this Cal team finishes 7th at best.
Go Bears!
I'm thinking of having a little party down in Newport.
The NIT does take 32 teams, even when you factor in the automatic qualifier (the mid major who won their regular season title but did not get the automatic bids), there is definitely room for a major program like the Bears.
Anyhow, Cal definitely has something, in addition to pride, to play for in the Pac-10 tourney.
Go Bears!

Washington's status has absolutely, utterly zero to do with whether any other bubble team gets in
I don’t know where this idea came from that there is some sort of conference quota to be filled, but it has no relationship to reality. Teams are evaluated on a one-by-one basis.
"We don't want our people to be preoccupied with seminude, crazy men jumping up and down who are chasing an inflated object," said Sheik Mohamed Osman Arus, head of operations for the Hizbul Islam insurgent group.
Well, yes and no. If Washington gets in, that’s one fewer spot to go around. That’s about all in terms of impact, though.
California Golden Bears: 2nd place is nothing to sneeze at!
