I don't know how I missed this story four months ago. But my very own local newspaper, the Columbus Dispatch, ran a story on October 4, 2010, that I just stumbled across.
Do you like resorts? Do you like blonde women? Then perhaps you will consider this vacation spot in 2015.
We are eminently qualified to work for Olialia.
Tropical island resort to be staffed only by blondes, company says
A Lithuanian company has announced plans to open a resort staffed only by blonde women on an island in the Indian Ocean.
Olialia - the name is pronounced "Ooh-la-la" - made the announcement Friday night at the opening of a nightclub owned by the company in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius, the BBC reported.
The resort will be located in the Maldives, an island nation in the Indian Ocean, and is scheduled to open in 2015, according to the Maldives-based Minivan News website.
Olialia's blonde managing director, Giedre Pukiene, told a travel industry website that the project will also include the creation of an airline and yacht service for visitors to the island, both staffed exclusively by blondes.
"The pilots and stewardesses on the planes will also be blonde only," Pukiene said.
Olialia also operates a pizzeria and a limo service; markets computers, ice cream, snacks and cola; and runs parties at nightclubs. According to Minivan News, Olialia is owned by the Lithuanian media conglomerate Respublika Group, which publishes the Baltic nation's largest newspaper.
This is either an Olialia drink advertisement or an actual photo from a company meeting.
So, who's going?
