I don't get how Daniel Lasco is lifter of the year.
While a senior in high school, Moala bench-pressed 495 pounds (225 kg). Said Jeff Tedford: “He’s already got the Cal bench-press record before he even gets here”.
Maybe most improved? Tiny only went up to 510, but Lasco went from 225 to 315, something like that?
Last time I checked
I love watching the Moala Bear (especially on punt coverage) – but there are other lifts besides bench. Especially one’s with greater translation to actually playing football (hang clean, snatch, jerk). How Moala matched up against Lasco in those categories I don’t know.
Also, on a per pound basis, Lasco would be stronger based upon the numbers you threw out above (Moala would bench 1.43x bodyweight, Lasco 1.59x). Things to take into consideration.
Marshawn Lynch would drive a cart around the field after the game to celebrate your mode and its beastliness, sir.

excited about RB depth next year
Sofele, CJA, Bigelow, Lasco.
Too bad CDJ, Yarnway, and Briggs are buried in depth chart. Manuel is interesting too.
If that’s the case, than Lasco definitely deserves it. That is really impressive improvement. If you just give it to whoever can bench the max, then it’s essentially a lineman award.

They were benching more than our linemen were? No wonder our O-lines weren’t very good.
