Lots of bowls today. All the action starts at 9 AM PST and continues well into the night. So, sit back, relax, and spend the day with all your friends at CGB!
First up, we have the Armed Forces Bowl (SPOILER ALERT: Cal won it in 2007!). This year, it pits BYU and Tulsa:
Kickoff: 12:00 pm EST Fri Dec 30, 2011
Brigham Young has won eight of its last nine games and scored at least 40 points in three straight contests.
That likely isn’t nearly enough to impress Tulsa.
Balanced teams with similar philosophies will be on display in the Armed Forces Bowl on Dec. 30 in Dallas.
Since losing two of its first three games, BYU (9-3) has been among the best teams in the nation. The Cougars followed their disappointing start with five straight wins before losing to TCU, but ended the regular season with three victories by an average of 30.3 points.

Next up is the Pinstripe Bowl. This interesting matchup is Iowa St v. Rutgers:
Kickoff: 3:20 pm EST Fri Dec 30, 2011
Iowa State only had six wins while playing a brutal schedule, but one of those victories cost its opponent a spot in the BCS championship game.
Rutgers can only blame itself for not staying in the hunt for a BCS bowl bid.
The battle-tested Cyclones try to register just their second winning season in six years when they take on the Scarlet Knights in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on Dec. 30.
Iowa State lost its last three games of 2010 to finish 5-7 and miss out on a bowl game, a year after coach Paul Rhoads took over and the Cyclones beat Minnesota 14-13 at the Insight Bowl in their first postseason appearance since 2005.
Next up, we have the Music City Bowl. This matchesup Miss St and Wake Forest:
Kickoff: 6:40 pm EST Fri Dec 30, 2011
Only one can emerge victorious Dec. 30, when the Bulldogs and the Demon Deacons put their stellar postseason track records on the line in the Music City Bowl at Nashville, Tenn.
Wake Forest (6-6) had a fast start to the season, improving to 4-1 after a 35-30 win over then-No. 23 Florida State. The Deacons’ fortunes went south from there, though, dropping five of their final six. They did nearly win at eventual ACC champion Clemson on Nov. 12, losing 31-28 on a last-second field goal, but the regular season concluded with their most humbling defeat - 41-7 at home to SEC also-ran Vanderbilt.
Finally, the marquee matchup of the night, Iowa v. Oklahoma in the Insight Bowl (SPOILER ALERT: Cal won it in 2003):
Kickoff: 10:00 pm EST Fri Dec 30, 2011
Just not this one.
The AP’s preseason No. 1 team missed out on a BCS bid after an ugly finish, so the 19th-ranked Sooners are relegated to playing the Insight Bowl on Dec. 30 against an Iowa team that hasn’t been among the Top 25 all season.
While the Hawkeyes (7-5) were likely thrilled to be invited back to Tempe after winning this bowl game last season, Oklahoma (9-3) should be disappointed it’s not at least playing in nearby Glendale. That’s where the Sooners were at this time last year for the Fiesta Bowl, beating Connecticut 48-20.
