2011 NFL Wildcard Thread: Golden Bears In The NFL
Here's your rooting guide for the 2011 NFL Playoffs first round matchups!
Saturday, Jan. 8, 1:30 p.m. PT, NBC: New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks
Seahawks have Justin Forsett, Marshawn Lynch, Mike Gibson, Cameron Morrah, Brandon Mebane
Saints have Matt Giordano
Rooting guide: Should be Seahawks, unless you have a strong Pete Carroll aversion.
Saturday, Jan. 8, 5 PM PT, NBC: New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts
Rooting guide: No Bears. Bleh.
Sunday, Jan. 9, 10 AM PT, CBS: Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs
Chiefs have Verran Tucker
Rooting guide: Arrowheads!
Sunday, Jan. 9, 1:30 PM PT, FOX: Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles
Packers have Aaron Rodgers and Desmond Bishop
Eagles have DeSean Jackson
Rooting guide: So torn. Even if we win, we lose. But even if we lose, we win!
Because there are no Cal events Sunday, CGB will have an open thread for tomorrow's premier game. For the rest of the events, go here. Discuss the games, discuss the Bears!
The opinions expressed in a FanPost are, in every way, reflective of the opinions of every California Golden Blogs Marshawnthusiast. Moreover, they are reflective of every employee of SBNation, including Tyler "Blez" Bleszinski.

Sweet move by Morrah on that almost TD pass. Funny/amazing to see a guy who is not particularly fast catch up to a ball like that.
Seattle leading Saints 24-20 at the half
WTF?!
Hasslebeck playing great (outside of that one INT).
In other words, Go Bears!
WIN FOREVER

Yeah, too small to succeed in the NFL.

All right fuck it, I’m rooting for the Seahawks to win the Super Bowl.
It’s a law of physics that it’s impossible to be a Cal fan and not root for Forsett and Lynch.
Cal Football: I loved them once and they broke my heart. Let that be a lesson to you. Never love anything.
If the Packers don’t make it, I wouldn’t mind the Seahawks winning.

Maybe the Saints are having second thoughts on not re-signing Fujita at this point, their defense is not cutting it.

At least they seem to be hitting their stride at the right point of the season. Their D looks a lot better than it did 2 months ago as well
I wonder how big a part of it is that they had SO many injuries. I read that Packers players missed 206 starts over the course of the year with injuries. 206!

It does!
Well, if you divide it by 16 games, that’s like 12-13 players being unavailable every single game.

Does that mean the Jets declare Manning Sanchez?
California Golden Bears: 2nd place is nothing to sneeze at!
by atomsareenough on Jan 8, 2011 8:05 PM PST up reply actions
Jim Caldwell should be roasted for that awful timeout by Colts. Gave Sanchez & the Jets a free play and gave Folk a much easier field goal.
If Caldwell hasn’t used that timeout, Jets prolly would have had to be more conservative with their playcalling. Peyton Manning was PISSED.
Email: bearsnecessities@gmail.com
Yeah, that was a head scratcher
You could tell Manning was like “WTF?” as soon as it was called.
Yes, I am an Old Blue. Now get off my lawn.
Well, Jets coulda spiked the ball, ran the same play, and immediately called a TO, rather than just allowing those seconds to tick off the clock
Cal
I think it’s unlikely that the Jets would have run that same play on 3rd down after burning 2nd down with a spike.
Yes, I am an Old Blue. Now get off my lawn.
