Hello Everybody:
I thought I'd share this fun story with you and see what you think. My 10 year old daughter has now memorized all the players and coaches on the men's basketball team and says she has joined me as a real Cal fan. She asked me to quiz her by pointing to anyone in the team poster and she'd identify them. Realizing she'd be right, I simply asked her who the best player was.
She said Crabbe.
I then told her we'd draft players back and forth and we would see who would win. It went like this:
Daughter: Crabbe
Father: Kamp
Daughter: MSF
Father: Gutierrez
Daughter: Brandon Smith
Father: Solomon (to which she winced in seeming regret)
Daughter: Bak
Father: Hmmm. I need a guard - Carter
Daughter: Murray
We then decided we couldn't pick any of the players that hadn't played and that left Powers or Thurman left for me to pick. Should I go big and overpower her? Or take Powers to stretch the floor and have someone a little quicker on the perimeter? Either way, I'm a bit concerned she may have me with too much quickness at the guard position and have enough size to take away Kamp and Solomon....
Maybe I take Powers to guard Crabbe on the perimeter. Crabbe hasn't shown, yet, that he has superior drive and shoot tendencies. If I take Powers, I'll just have him stay on him guarding an area, and force Crabbe to beat us with dribble drive.
What do you all think? Who drafted better?
