I almost bought another new camera over Christmas, and then I sat around and wondered why I would even need a new camera. (except for the old adage about appropriate amount of cameras to own is x+1 where x is the amount of cameras you currently own.)
But I like photography. I don't think I'm very good at it, but in the interest of creating another DBD and proving to myself that I really don't need the Olympus EP-2, here's some of my favorite shots I've taken over the last 4 years (with my Nikon d80 and my Ricoh GR 2)
This is a sunset over La Pederia in Barcelona Spain, taken with my Nikon d80. Shot at around 7:10pm, Nikon 18-135mm, at 18mm, f3.5, 1/6, ISO 400.
This sunset shot was taken in Singapore at the East Coast Parkway Seafood Center. It's actually 3 bracketed shots then processed through Photomatix. Shot with my Nikon d80 f9/bracketed exposure 24mm
These are the Central Star Ferry Piers in Hong Kong - Nikon d80 ISO 1600, f 3.8, 1/25
Pudong Shanghai, taken with my Ricoh GR 2
f2.4/0.8 from the top of the Hyatt on the Bund's Vue Bar
This is the street behind my house. Nikon d80 late at night (stalking mode)
This is actually one of my favorite photos - taken in Ho Chih Minh City. To be fair it was FUCKING HOT that day.
Last photo - Valencia, Spain. The city where paella was invented - this is the museum. What museum? Museo de las Ciencias Principe Felipe - The Prince Philip Museum of SCIENCE!
