Rockin’. I camped w/ the kid because she’s been having nightmares. Got up around 5am to carry Psycho Teething Baby. Coffee + 35 minutes on the elliptical had me feeling pretty good.
Last night’s revelries did slow me down, though. I didn’t start toasting the Cal game until around noon. :)

Allen is the real deal. As good as Jones is, Allen is clearly our #1 guy. It’s nice having both of them. Jones has great hands. Allen reminds me of Anquan Boldin. He may not be a pure burner, but he’s got great moves and an NFL-body.

Cardinal 38, Hornets 14, 3rd quarter
Midway through the third quarter, Andrew Luck is currently 17 for 23 for 316 yards and four touchdowns. Two of those touchdowns went to Doug Baldwin in replacement of the injured Chris Owusu; Baldwin leads the Cardinal with 4 catches and 110 yards. Running back Stepfan Taylor also caught a pass for a 58 yard touchdown and Ryan Whalen added 4 catches for 65 yards.
It sounds like there are about a thousand people in that stadium.

Exactly. That’s why I said “risky.” But you know, it might have been better to go for the save than the safety, b/c then if they successfully saved the ball, then they’d still be alive. Even if they gave up the touchdown, at least they get the ball back immediately. So actually, I’m in the opinion that Katz might have been better to just go for the save.

Did anyone hear Mike Riley on Colin Cowherd on Friday?
Cowherd played an excerpt from an interview he did with Riley recently. Riley told the story of how he recruited Tom Brady when Riley was the OC at USC (under John Robinson as HC). Riley described how he really liked Brady, offered him, and was confident that SC would get him after Riley’s home visit with the Brady family in the Bay Area.
Anyhoo, soon after the home visit, Robinson told Riley that SC no longer had a schollie available for Brady because another QB had verballed (apparently someone whom Robinson wanted more than Brady). So Riley broke that news to Brady. Brady went to Michigan, blah blah blah.
The part that was interesting (and I’m paraphrasing) is that Riley said, “I was afraid he was going to end up going to Cal and that we’d end up having to face him. I was real happy when I found out he signed with Michigan.”
