Keenan Allen's Ankle And Hip Problems Limited Him In Nevada
This apparently slipped through the cracks, but on a Saturday morning interview after the game, Jeff Tedford disclosed to Mike Schumann of ABC7 that Allen didn't practice at all this week. This might explain why we saw a lot of Michael Calvin and Alex Lagemann as opposed to Allen on the field on Friday night, and why Kevin Riley and Allen never seemed to be on the same page And why Allen wasn't able to spring high enough to adjust to that first Riley slight overthrow and pick.
Thanks to Kodiak for finding this tidbit. Get well Keenan. We need you down the road.

Very slightly relieved...
I think he should have caught that not-well-thrown ball. KR should have thrown it better, but KA should have pulled it in. If KR’s going to be throwing it all season, KA better get used to catching those kinds of throws.
I'd like to smell the Roses before I die.
Lay low... Nobody bet unless Jeff says so.
He plays it close to the vest.

Vereen and Jones
they both had a career day, with the best numbers of their careers.
your RB and WR have a career day and your QB completes 62% for over 250 yards… and you still lose the game.
Depends on which part of Friday. By the end, even royrules was struggling, it would appear.

And another blogger goes down with carpal tunnel! CGB is down to their 3rd string post game recapper and 2nd string scheme analysts! This season is going down the drain, and FAST.

The secrecy at practice is helping out so much!

I don’t think it has any impact on Cal’s performance in games…It just means fans don’t know what the hell is going on.
The #1 greatest threat to America: BEARS
I understand the secrecy as being gamemanship, but it also allows the fans get angry for wrong reasons.
I think I know what’s going on here. Remember last year when JT closed practices and we all thought he was saving some schemes for the conference schedule and nothing new happened?
In fact, JT has been waiting 2 years to unleash the secret playbook this week. Operation Rose Bowl here we come.

Tedford's Policy
is nothing but a manifestation of his own insecurity.
a few bloggers and reporters rubbing him the wrong way should NEVER warrant such a drastic reaction.
does cal ever show something in games where opponents and fans say, ‘woah, didn’t see that coming". we’re about as predictable as a team can get.
for a guy who preaches execution as much as he does, tedfurd (yeah, i went there) spends too much time and effort chasing his own tail.
