Cal coach Jeff Tedford said freshman tight end Jacob Wark broke his ankle last Thursday in practice and is out for the season. Wark should get a medical redshirt.

With Jarrett Sparks expected to miss his second straight game with a sprained ankle, the Bears are suddenly pretty thin at tight end. Anthony Miller and Spencer Ladner, their two top tight ends, are healthy. After that, the No. 3 guy is either Solomona Aigamuau or Garry Graffort.
I wonder if we would ever use one of our backup OL as a back-up TE on situations we would use a TE to block…
Hm. Has Tedford ever used an eligible lineman in goal-line situations?

Used, probably not. Designed a play for, definitely.
There was an awesome tackle screen play they installed for Tepper in practice last year that I’m very sad we never got to use in a game.

It's amazing how just a couple of weeks ago we
were extremely deep at the TE position, and now we are quite thin. Depth can disappear pretty suddenly.

if one would have to pick a problem area on the team, the #3 TE is a nice place to have a problem. I’m more concerned about fullback, as the current dudes are getting blown up.
