Others receiving votes:
Georgia, Arizona, UCLA, Fresno State, San Diego State, Washington, San Jose State, Stanford, Arizona State, Washington State, West Virginia, Colorado, Nevada, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Houston, Temple
Dropped out this week:
N/A
Biggest Difference from AP Poll:
California +22, Utah +18, Oregon St +4, Texas -4, Oregon +3
The poll is pretty similar to the actual AP Poll with a few key differences. First of all I'm surprised to see Ohio St at #1 despite Alabama with more #1 votes. I don't think I've ever seen a poll like this. This is because some people dropped Alabama completely (or kept them really low) while most people kept OSU in the top-5. Still it was only a 5 point difference. The other big difference is the two first place votes for Cal. Yea... Other than that we have a few weird votes for San Jose St, Temple, ASU, Nevada, Colorado, Fresno, SDSU, WSU (!)... wtf!?
The Biggest Sunshine Pumper Award goes to...
... California, and Missing Barry, all of whom voted for Cal as #1!
This award was presented to the user(s) who loved Cal the most out of everyone who voted this week and had copious amounts of sunshine pumping
California decided to vote for California teams throughout and Missing Barry, perhaps disappointed at the lack of Richmond Spiders, also voted Cal as #1.
The OMG Cal Sux Award goes to...
... Ozone, drub12, Mallrat92204, dirt, uw11bowdwon, TwistNHook, Norcalnick, and royrules22, all of whom did not vote for Cal!
This award was presented to the user(s) who held a glass half-empty look at Cal
Naturally because Cal hasn't shown anything that warrants a #1 vote.
The Five Most Confusing Teams Were...
- Auburn
- Florida State
- California
- Oregon State
- Utah
Most people had the most trouble figuring out where these five teams belonged. This list is limited to teams that are in the top-25 only.
Auburn was listed anywhere from 22 to 15 to not even being listed at all. FSU, when listed, was in the low 20s.
The Five Least Confusing Teams Were...
- Alabama
- Oregon
- Virginia Tech
- Wisconsin
- Pittsburgh
Most people were generally on the same page when it came to these teams. This list is limited to teams that are in the top-25 only otherwise all the crappy teams would top this list.
Well when 7/12 of all voters decide that Alabama is the #1 team in the country, it's not very confusing is it?
The Five Most Divergent Voters Were...
- California
- uw11bowdwon
- Norcalnick
- dirt
- drub12
This award was given to the five voters whose poll differed most from the overall Top 25.
I was sorely tempted to spike California's ballot but I didn't out of Rishi fear. This is what his ballot looked like: Cal, UCLA, USC, Fresno, SDSU, SJSU, Furd. Not until #17 did Ohio St show up and he didn't vote for Alabama at all. uw11bowdwon wasn't really all that divergent but his vote for Nebraska at #3 tended to knock him up this list.
The Five Least Divergent Voters Were...
- CruzinBears
- Ozone
- GBB4188
- royrules22
- TwistNHook
This award was given to the five voters whose poll differed the least from the overall Top 25.
CruzinBear's ballot was scarily similar to what the final result ended up being, even with Cal at #19 (only two spots away from the actual result at #21). Ozone didn't have Cal and had OSU at #25 but otherwise was pretty close to the final result.
Well there you have it. Hopefully we'll get more participation as the time goes on!

Hmm, not sure what I did to be so divergent – I submitted the same ballot here that I did to CGB’s blog poll. I suppose I had Wisconsin and Iowa lower than this poll.

A man who ranks Furd ahead of Cal is no man at all.

It's ok to be different!
You’re special, just like everybody else!
I was sorely tempted to spike California’s ballot but I didn’t out of Rishi fear.
