Submit Your Pac-10 Media Day Questions

On Thursday I'll attend another Pac-10 Media Day.  Instead of the Sheraton LAX, I get to head to a more exciting venue this year: the Rose Bowl!  Oddly enough, we'll be out on the field for the event.  Electricity and wifi were practically nonexistant last year, so my expectations are low this year.  I'll update the CGB twitter throughout the day.  And if we have access to 21st century conveniences, I'll even be able to keep you all updated via CGB.

See Part I and Part II of last year's event for a look at what it's like at this annual event.  I'll have the chance to mix and mingle with a variety of Pac-10 coaches and players as well as the other media types who cover the Pac-10 (hi Uncle Ted!).  At last year's event I learned some exciting and unusual facts (like how Ted Miller has a link to CGB on his PC, and how Cal Media Relations thinks CGB is "different" from the rest of Cal sports sites).  This time I want to ask some questions on behalf of you, the faithful readers.

Pose your questions in the comments and rec the questions you most want answered.  I've provided a list of those in attendance, in case you want to direct any questions to other programs.  I can't guarantee I'll ask everything you ask (if I embarrass myself one more time in front of Jim Harbaugh by asking about his $50,000 toilet, Twist's "AllRightNow.com" dream will never become reality!), but I'll try.

9:30 a.m. - Introduction and format - Dave Hirsch
9:35 a.m. - Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott

How many of you are planning on mimicking the Giants’ previous year actions?

Where is the Pac-10 media day?

My question for Lane Kiffin: “Do you regret pissing of Al Davis and burning your NFL bridge?”

It’s at the Rose Bowl (on the field for whatever strange reason). Thanks for reminding me to include that info in the post.

You could ask Tedford – If Riley goes down with a season ending injury will the QB identified as a bust by pac-10 blogger Ted Miller( Brock Mansion) replace him? and if so, will anyone notice?

You should ask Chip Kelly what crimes his team had committed at the Media Day already.

Follow-up Question for Hairball

Do you understand the concept of home field advantage?

If so, why are you doing it rong?

You could ask Tedford if this is the year he will be at the Rose Bowl for real? If not, is it next year? What about the next year? and so on, so that we can plan accordingly

How about asking JT if he (and the team) feels relieved that there are so few expectations placed on them this year while Harblow and Furd now have to be the ones to let down the experts.

Careful, man. There's a beverage here!

ok here is a question you might pose to Larry Scott

Since one of the possible push is to increase brand awareness of the PAC-10 internationally like in Asia. Would the PAC-10 also try to increase its exposure in its immediate neigbour which is Canada? at least in the BC/Alberta area?

Canadians also have football with the CFL, and they tend to tune in big numbers when the Superbowl is on. So it is not a stretch to promote PAC-10 football and PAC-10 sports up north

Ask Tedford if he’s done anything in the off-season to address the team’s bad habit last year of apparently giving up in tough games, for example: Oregon, USC, Oregon State, and Washington.

by TJDJ on Jul 27, 2010 1:58 PM PDT reply actions

Berkelium, you should also ask Tedford if he’s done anything inthe off-season to congratulate the team for their great habit last year of apparently stepping up to the plate in tough games, for example: Arizona, Stanford.

Ha I guess that question was way too negative and would probably needs to be phrased in a more positive light. I blame the Washington and the Utah games for that lingering bad taste in my mouth. And I do recognize the team played great against Stanford and Arizona (that Stanford game totally redeemed the season in my opinion). However, I’d just like to know if he’s been doing anything in the off-season to try to make the team more consistent. It was very un-Tedford for the team to get blown out in so many games last season.

According to Yellow Fever, at the Tedford press conference yesterday in NYC, he addmited as much and took full blame.

Also ask Larry Scott why he was expressing the hope that a Chinese basketball player would star at Stanford, Cal, or Arizona in that SI article. Is he not familiar with Max Zhang?

Can you talk to Tedford about cutting me a personal check for Cal’s dismal performance in Eugene last year? I spent a lot of money on the trip up and I would like to be reimbursed.
