solarise, you’re freaken awesome!
How did Cal get on Frank Clark's radar?
Cleveland Glenville is one of the premier HS football programs in Ohio. Troy Smith and Ted Ginn Jr. are alumni.
Yes, I am an Old Blue. Now get off my lawn.

Can we put Tosh on OL recruiting next year? Tedford should hand him that OL list and we’ll soon have the top OL class in the country.
Jordan Richards looks great on that tape, but either my graphics processing is messed up or some of the plays have been sped up for dramatic effect. Even the refs look like they have pro speed on a few of those.
The opposite is the Maurice Harris video, which looks slower than real speed, causing great consternation among the recruiting paranoids. The group that also thinks adding a helmet stripe could have a negative effect on recruiting.

Bad News
I read on ESPN that Colorado is contemplating (though it is purely speculative) that Colorado, if Hawkins fails this year, will be looking for a new Head Coach.
The first name they post is.
Tosh Lupoi
Don't Tread on Me.
I’m all for Lupoi, but to jump from being a positions coach to a heach coach is a bit extreme. Particularly since a short two years ago he was a graduate assistant (or was is three?).
Not a chance
Tosh is a Bay Area native, went to De La Salle HS, and formerly a Cal player, grad assistant, and finally Coach. He bleeds Blue & Gold. He ain’t goin’ nowhere ’til the job is done (Rose Bowl).

I am hoping no chance
It was just what I read

Well, money talks. But yeah, I don’t consider this a real possibility until he becomes a DC for a few years.
I mean, every summer, it seems there is some joke report that Ron Gould is leaving.
o=========<| BBBBBBEARZZZZZZ
Ron Gould’s leaving would be less likely since his wife has a great job in the AD office. Tosh is still green and I’m not sure Colorado would be willing to risk that. The only sure thing he has is his top notch recruiting skills.
I think Tosh will need to prove that he can coach up his DL and when that is in the books, he’ll need to prove his ability to coordinate at the DC level. If he’s patient enough, he’ll get his day
Samuels said. "That last-minute shot at halftime sums it up. Shooting off one leg? C'mon, man."
He has a good start with King Tyce going in the top 10, but Lupoi needs to prove he can consistently improve players. Cameron Jordan will be an interesting case study for this.
Colorado has hired a very very young DC before.
They won a NC with him
Don't Tread on Me.

Not a chance. No way he goes from position coach to head coach without stopping over at DC.
www.californiagoldenblogs.com
I can think of position coaches who went directly to head coach, but none of them actually successful. Orgeron was a disaster at Ole Miss, Tim Brewster has been terrible to mediocre at Minnesota, and Gilbertson (who I’ll throw in despite his one year at OC prior to his stint at Cal) of course failed miserably to continue Bruce Snyder’s success.
"Let me tell you a story. I was a political prisoner for two years. The instant I was released I ran to McDonald's. I had a Big Mac and a Coke.
It was fantastic."

Savon Huggins Narrows the List
Cal not included:
Huggins had said three weeks ago that he knew for sure that "only Rutgers" would make the list and he had an idea about three or four others. After taking recent unofficial visits to Wisconsin and Notre Dame, the New Jersey prospect finally feels ready to announce his top 10.
The top 10 list for Huggins is: Rutgers, Pitt, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Florida, Penn State, Stanford, Georgia, Wisconsin and Miami. The Hurric
And Carlisle. I’m not worried, Gould will get his man. He pulled in Briggs after everything last year.
Then, I’ll make a big ruckus, because I am a hypocritical asshole.
-TwistNHook
forgot about Carlisle. It’s going to be sweet when we steal him from everyone’s favorite douchebag, Jim Harbaugh

3 UCLA recruits kicked off the team
http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/ncf/news/story?id=5340069
UCLA football coach Rick Neuheisel dismissed three incoming freshmen — wideout Paul Richardson, cornerback Shaquille Richardson and linebacker Josh Shirley — from the team for violating rules, the program announced Tuesday.
I think we were after all three of these guys at one point.
Not sure about Shaq Richardson, but we offered Paul and Josh Shirley last yr. It was a surprise when Shirley chose fUCLA. Most recruitniks predicted Washington or Michigan.
We can only have one Shaq on the team, and he’ll have the last name Thompson in the 2012 class.
