FLASH: Cal Through To Quarterfinals After Blanking Dartmouth

The Golden Bears wrapped up pool play in the college sevens rugby championship tournament with a 29-0 shutout over Dartmouth. Cal advances to Sunday's quarterfinal round and will face the loser of the today's San Diego State-Tennessee match.

With the victory, the Bears earned their second shutout of the weekend, amassing a tournament-leading 81-point scoring differential against Harvard, Notre Dame and The Big Green.

Cal distributed the scoring duties to five different players, including sevens veteran Colin Hawley, senior Dustin Muhn, flyhalf Keegan Englebrecht, junior Connor Ring and freshman Seamus Kelly. In addition to scoring a try of his own, Englebrecht converted Dustin Muhn's try. Four tries remained unconverted.

Despite its loss, Dartmouth also advances to the championship quarterfinal and will square off against the winner of the San Diego State-Tennessee game.
