"I wanted to come back," he says. "But Coach [Jeff] Tedford said, ‘There’s no way I’m playing you again.’ They took my helmet and everything."
Jahvid Best talks about preparing for the pros with Mike SIlver. (HT Scootie) Quite a contrast with the cutthroat coaches out there who would be quick to risk the health of their players for the prize (Urban Meyer anyone?)

I love our football team to death we have such a good program and its run maybe better then any other program i can think of i mean how many coaches stress athletics and Academics like Tedford? Do you think Meyer would let a player get caught up on his study’s before taking place in spring practice with out taking it personal(Verran tucker) ? Our program isn’t only making football players, they’re preparing these Student-Athletes to be successful in life past football and what it mean to be a good citizen.

THIS.
It’s great to see.
And didn’t someone (was it Hagan?) have to miss a game this season because he skipped a class? THAT is awesome, keeping the students accountable.
(someone correct if i don’t have the story right, thx)

At first I thought that the quote was Jahvid saying he wanted to come back for next year and Tedford wouldn’t let him…Then I read the article and found out it was just for the last games of the year.
Tedford wouldn't let Jahvid come back last season!
“I wanted to come back,” he says. “But Coach [Jeff] Tedford said, ‘There’s no way I’m playing you again.’ They took my helmet and everything.”
So it’s true then. Tedford is trying to lose.

For those who can’t tell, I was kidding. Don’t lump me into that crazy fringe. :-)
