CBS
I’m nitpicking or whatever, but I wish they would put two games on every time slot. They could be afraid of Kansas and Baylor both blowing out their respective opponent, so that’s why they have three games on at that time.

They've done that 1-2-3-2 setup forever
I can’t explain it. Why not just have two “morning” venues and two “evening” venues? Why would you ever make a one-off national game when you don’t have to? If the game’s a blowout, you lose viewers for no reason.

Wright
He’s opting to go without Antonio Pena in the starting lineup. That’s different because he has started just about every game, I think. He didn’t score against Robert Morris, so that could be a small reason at least.

I’m glad I picked Saint Mary’s to reach the Sweet 16.
Randy Hahn: "I’ve been referred to as a playa…"
Samhan
He left when Saint Mary’s had a 17-11 lead. Villanova scores six straight points and he comes back in. Saint Mary’s then goes on a 10-2 run.

Man, he’s still out of sync. After going 2-for-15 against Robert Morris, I expected him to bounce back like the best player on the team he is.

Well, we’re not selling shorts here.

Burton Guster: "I believe it’s called a tweet."
Shawn Spencer: "There’s no way I’m saying that."
Wow
Ball is knocked out of Samhan’s hands, bounces off the foot of a Villanova player just before he falls out of bounds right to another Villanova player. Over to the other end, bad pass bounces off the Villanova defender, hits the ref instead of going out of bounds, and again bounces straight to a Villanove player who’s standing right at the three-point line.
That’s officially the luckiest play I’ve ever seen.

Big East
In short, they have the best teams. They still do. A bad tournament showing doesn’t change that.
The Ultimate Opportunist
by Rated-R Superstar on Mar 20, 2010 12:32 PM PDT up reply actions
I guess that’s the problem with the tournament. These are the only games I’ve seen the Big East play (except Cal-Syracuse), and they have looked extremely unimpressive.
Exit, Pursued By A Bear
Syracuse, WVU, and Georgetown are the true class of the Big East. Obviously the Hoyas looked terrible, but I think that game was the perfect storm. Ohio played the game of their lives and G-town had a bad game. Marquette, Villanova, Notre Dame are kind of middling. I don’t really believe in Pitt, but they can play well in stretches.

But I still have to ask: anyone else notice that there’s still a chance for an all-East Bay final in the “South” region?
Again, NOT a prediction, the odds remain very, very long. If Cal can do the double on Duke, though, then it will be hard not to look ahead going into next weekend.

Duke
is a formidable challenge, but think bears can stay with them. play ultra efficient offense, Randle and Christopher are hot right now.
Duke
When I look at them, our biggest challenge will probably be their big man by the name of Brian Zoubek. He’s seven-foot-two. He’s not really a threat offensively, but we need to keep him off the glass. They have two other big men, Miles Plumlee and Lance Thomas, that Jamal Boykin can deal with. Kyle Singler, Nolan Smith and Jon Scheyer are not athletic. Robertson can stay with Singler, Christopher is bigger than Smith and Randle should be fine against Scheyer since Scheyer won’t use the height to his advantage.

How does the other team get free throws after you commit an offensive foul after they give you, the team that committed an offensive foul, the basket? That might be more ridiculous than the intentional foul ruling.

Because, by definition in NCAA Basketball, the ball is loose after it has been released for a shot. It’s not an offensive foul, it’s a loose ball foul.

Next year I will make a bracket solely of who I’d like to win. Then I will have at least one bracket that I can always root for.
I’ve been strategically rooting against my bracket. I have Kansas in the final 4, but a ton of people have them winning the championship, and I have Syracuse winning, so I won’t mind Kansas going down now..

If that is the game in the third round, which it more than likely will be, it will be interesting. I wonder how Saint Mary’s and their young guards will Tweety Carter and LaceDarius Dunn of Baylor. Also, Omar Samhan will be tested this time. Baylor has a really good big man by the name of Ekpe Udoh. Yeah, but we have Duke to beat up on, hopefully. Harder draw for us, but I’m happy for Washington.

Is this’ll wake up Duke to the thought of an upset. Hopefully we can bring our A game again.

I don't care
I know the truth.
Washington won the tournament, which gets them the automatic bid. And as everyone is finding out, they’re a pretty good team.
But we won the conference.
What is awesome about this upset
Is that my bracket with Cal winning it all is now the most viable! Go Bears!
Dang, you're quick
I LOL’d.

I don’t care who wins the Brigham Young-Kansas State game, but I’d absolutely love Wake Forest over Kentucky.

ESPN’s #1 bracket has the entire sweet 16 still intact and has NIU and Butler going to the final four. It’s that kind of year!

I picked KU in my CGB bracket although I DID pick Cal to win in the first round unlike some people. Twist
Interesting that DC Trojan turns out to be a more loyal Cal supporter than Twist.

If Cornell can hang with Kansas they could hang with Kentucky.

This. It’s been a down year for everyone big. Kansas was the most complete team. Anyone has a chance now.

I’ve been out and about pretty much the entire last 32 hours, so I’ve spent the last half hour or so reading through all of the various post game comments. Few things give me a better feeling than reading all of the reveling comments after a particularly satisfying win – it’s great fun to relive it through CGB. Man I love basketball.
