Low expectations, high hopes
We have to handle the press, and deal with our thin bench. Louisville is an erratic team, so hopefully they’ll have one of their bad teams.

I think the other team is limited in its ability to exploit them. Not great passers, not able to penetrate much. When they get the ball inside they seem to convert, but they are having trouble getting it in there.
Also, not a whole lot of points off of turnovers. Press has only turned it over a couple of times. Cal looks real good, calm and collected, in bringing the ball up.

They keep getting Zhang out so high that its pointless for him to be on the floor. His size is worthless if has to be running down to the block
nice play Max a couple of minutes later
no foul, kept him flummoxed, dribble out of bounds.
This guy has some upside!

Great win
hard to find too many flaws in that game (Rocky 1233465 ….)
Just watching the last couple of minutes, I suspicion Duke will do a better job of:
1. hitting the three
2. making Cal pay for the double team at the top of the key with our big men
3. exploiting our small team, and getting to the line
But I think we have better athletes and they played very intelligently and with poise tonight. Really made me proud.
jh
Plus we are the kind of team that could just shoot the f-ing lights out and it won’t matter. Duke will take our shooting seriously and won’t run zone much I would guess
I think that is right
Cal was unconscious for big stretches (53% from behind the 3 point line for the game), but it helped to have the open looks. Smith on Duke can move, not so sure of the other guys, but I suspect they will be prepared and motivated.
