Nobody wants to see the redemption of Todd Bozeman more than I do, but Todd 10, WVU 0 five minutes in is not working for me. Too bracket destroying. Yeesh.

Rooting for Morgan State… held tough against Oklahoma last year

Too young to remember Bozeman… Old Blues: bitter or excited to see him succeed?

He still has the scarlet letter, but Coach Boze will probably get a mid-major job within the next few years, methinks

I am glad to see Bozeman back in the college basketball landscape. But then I am not so naive (no longer naive?) as to think that there is a such thing as a perfectly “clean” program. College b-ball recruiting is more shady than football due to all the shoe/AAU/high school to assistant coach shenanigans that go on. No program is clean, not Duke, not even UCLA in their hey day. (BBall gods forgive me for blaspheming against the annointed one, Coach Wooden)

Is Cornell actually good? Or does Temple suck? Come on Cosbys!

Same request for those from yesterday (and really ALL open threads ever). If you could provide specific information about the action such as time remaining score and thoughts more than “WOW DID YOU SEE THAT??” or “This team is playing poorly” itd be apprecitaed for working shlubs such as myself. Thanks!

Stupid Cornell. They better beat Wisconsin/Wofford in the 2nd round too, then.

I don’t believe in Wisco, and had them losing to Temple :-/

Wisconsin

I guess I believe in them since I had them in the regional final.

…over Kentucky? I don’t believe in the Wildcats either, but I think it’ll take a good team like WVU to knock them out.

No

I had Texas beating Kentucky.

Wisconsin is the kind of team that can beat Kentucky because they can control the tempo and make the Wildcats play a half-court game. This is a Wisconsin team with non-conference wins over Duke, Maryland and Marquette.

Ah. I had Wake over Texas because like Kentucky, I don’t think Texas knows how to play smart basketball, and they aren’t as deep or talented as Kentucky.

Wisconsin appears to be having some trouble with Wofford to start with here.

This is what I love about this tournament. West Coast Cal fans (some of them, at least), actually care that Cornell upset Temple. How awesome is that?

So, basically, you gotta Go Bears!

Cornell

Speaking of which, Jay Bilas had them in the regional final against West Virginia. It’s a bit of a reach, but it could happen.

Meanwhile in J’ville…

Wofford 48, Wisco 47 with two minutes to go.

by Scootie on Mar 19, 2010 1:56 PM PDT reply actions

Wofford hasn’t made a free throw in this second half. The hell?

These college basketball coaches need to come up with better end of game plays

Almost all of these final plays have been, dribble, dribble, dribble more, dribble, take terrible shot.

It was tied at 49 with less than a minute left, but the Badgers pulled it out. Hopefully Cornell will take them down in the next round.

I’ve only lost 2 Sweet 16 picks so far, and Temple was one of them, so I’d rather the underdog take its place because I doubt many people picked Cornell for that spot. I’m also rooting for Ohio over Tennessee :)
