Cal Pro Day
I went to Cal Pro Day at Memorial Stadium today. The weather in Strawberry Canyon was just fantastic so that made for a pleasant morning. JO made a list of participants. Jahvid did not participate in any of the activities. They started with the 40 yard dash. The scouts were using stopwatches to time everything, and several spectators in the crowd were also timing with their phones and comparing times. A whole lot less accurate than the slow motion video the NFL combine uses for the official times. After the 40 they split up into different drills like the shuttle run, cone drills, and various position drills. I took this little video of Syd'Quan Thompson running the 40. I also have a few pictures from the event and some SAHPC construction shots as well.
The entire album can be found here. I've embedded a few pictures with some notes.
Life sure is good with a view like this.
Lots of progress is being made on the SAHPC. The rebar for the exterior wall is in place almost everywhere.
The construction is proceeding mainly from the south to the north. Near I-house the roof of the 2nd floor is already being constructed. I think this floor will form the plaza for the west side of the stadium.
Here is a view facing south. You can see the floor of the 2nd level is already in place to the south.
Jahvid Best in the middle with headphones. Wonder what he listens to. Brian Holley is at top in the blue shirt. Verran Tucker is wearing the blue and white hoodie.

Tyson Alualu doing a shuttle run.
Coach Tedford making a rare appearance on the field without wearing a hat. It was a sunny day so he should perhaps be more mindful of skin damage.
Coach looked very relaxed out there today like he's ready to start spring practice tomorrow. Today happy-go-lucky, tomorrow all business.
Apparently scouts from 26 teams were on hand today. I saw guys from the Giants, Jets, Chargers, Bucs, Niners, Colts, Vikings, Cardinals, Patriots, and Eagles all wearing their gear.

Thanks for the report and pictures! It’s nice to see all the progress being made on the SAHPC.
i'm here to clean your pool but i don't have a pool *bowchica bowow*
Isn’t that weird that Jahvid didn’t participate? What other chance will he have to run drills for these guys?
J.O. reported this
Best came to Memorial Stadium ready to go through position drills in front of NFL personnel evaluators. But only one running backs coach showed up, and he told Best he saw everything he needed to see at the combine.
As Avinash said there is no real need to do the drills over, if you can’t top what you just did at the combine.
Is that ANthony Felder facing left in the second photo from the botto?

It’s 11:47AM right now. This article is from the future!
Anyway, great coverage. I hope these guys have great NFL careers.

Why is Every Black Guy Circa 1988 standing behind Tedford’s left shoulder in the last pic? Who is he, and how did he get a hold of a time machine?
